Homemade Burger and Fries Found in Da Nang, Vietnam

We can all agree that there is nothing like a good cheeseburger. While wandering through the streets in Da Nang Vietnam on a cooler day near the beach we happened upon Burger House and decided to give it a chance. Reviews online include customers noticing the fresh and homemade ingredients. As Americans, burgers are a huge staple in our country and a great burger can turn your day around!

At one point in my life about 10 years ago I went on a cheese burger craze and set out on a journey to find the best burger within 100 miles of me. This was in the United States and I ate so many cheese burgers that I stopped craving them after a while. Well, I found a cheeseburger in Da Nang Vietnam that made me reconsider.

Meeting Burger House

Upon entering the establishment we were able to look at a large menu placed outside of the business near a few tables under an awning. We found the restaurant inviting. We decided to eat inside, which had 6 large tables and a beautiful traditional painting of Vietnam scenery on the wall. The staff made us feel very welcome and were quite friendly! Definitely family friendly as well.

We ordered a cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, two sides of fries, a strawberry smoothie, and a sprite. Our total ended up being $400,000 VND which at the time of the visit was equivalent to $16.38. You can easily get away with getting a cheese burger and sharing the fries or not getting drinks if you want to save money. I would say it is worth the price even for this location. Let’s review the food, shall we. Starting with the strawberry shake it was creamy, fresh, and made with yogurt, yum! 8.3/10. 

Moving onto the fries. I want to say that the menu doesn’t do the fries justice. On the menu, the fries looked like ¼ straight cut fries and I couldn’t tell if they were fresh or frozen but in person they were steak fries which if you asked my grandpa, he’d tell you those are the best in the business. The fries are clearly homemade, blanched (I believe) and well seasoned with thyme or a similar herb. Along with this it came with roasted garlic which is an amazing touch for us garlic lovers. On the side there is also an aioli which has a light pinkish color to it and a great flavor profile. I could eat these fries everyday happily! 9.2/10. 

The cheeseburger and double cheese burger. Man were they juicy! The burgers came with the classic combination of American cheese, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and white onion. There is a healthy serving of aioli as well, a little too much for my liking but not overwhelming. The bun was light, fluffy, and grilled, yum! We didn’t specify how we wanted it cooked and it came out medium well, if you ask me this was perfect for a burger. I suggest specifying how you want your burger cooked if this isn’t your preference. The meat had a wonderful flavor profile, Seared to perfection on the outside, juicy and packed with flavor on the outside. Did I mention the onions were grilled slightly? Well they were, and it brought the flavors together! For the double cheeseburger you can expect the same but with double the cheese and double the meat. I would give the burger an 8.6/10. 

My biggest criticism for this restaurant is the menu. I don’t think the menu does the food justice. Menus are a huge selling point to customers since it is their first impression of your business. The only other criticism I have was the amount of aioli that was on the burger but I think that is just a personal preference and it didn’t impact the meal negatively at all. 

I would highly recommend Burger House to travelers and locals craving a great burger with fresh and homemade ingredients. I hope that as time continues they continue what they are doing here because it was a great experience and even better meal. Thank you for the great meal!
